Motivation & Goals
Circular construction and renovation of the building stock in Germany requires innovation in building analysis and documentation. Currently, no renovation guideline can be created that includes the use of existing resources (building components, materials, etc.) which can provide a statement about ecological and economic benefits in advance. If, in addition to GIS and 3D scans, building-physical properties are also captured through remote sensing, the conditions can be established to implement this quickly and economically. A "Digital Twin" can be created, on which all further structural, logistical, and also social measures are based and which differs in detail depending on user requirements. This model allows for simulations and analyses that can contribute to the optimization of planning and decision-making processes in terms of ecology, economy, and social aspects.
